Free, confidential support for Roma and Romanian communities

If you or your family need help, you are not alone.


Union Romani Voice provides free, confidential, and culturally informed support to Roma and Romanian individuals and families in Ipswich, Suffolk, and beyond.

Our services are available face to face, by phone, or by email, and are based on trust, lived experience, and respect.

All our services are free of charge.

 

Who this support is for

Our support is available to:


  • Roma and Romanian individuals and families
  • Migrants and EU nationals
  • People with English as an additional language (EAL)
  • Women, children, and vulnerable adults
  • People facing housing, legal, welfare, or safeguarding issues

You do not need to already be connected to other services.


We will help you understand your options and support you step by step.

 

The support we offer

Legal & Immigration Support

We provide advice, guidance, and advocacy on:

  • EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS)
  • Immigration status and applications
  • Understanding your rights and responsibilities in the UK
  • Help with letters, forms, and official processes
  • Referrals to specialist legal services where needed

 

Access to Justice – Free Legal Advice


We work in partnership with Suffolk Law Centre through the Suffolk Access to Justice project.

This service is for recent migrants, particularly:


  • Roma communities
  • People from Eastern European countries
  • Individuals with English as an additional language (EAL)

Through this partnership, you can access free legal advice on a range of issues, delivered in a safe and supportive way, with trusted community support.

Housing & Welfare Support

We support individuals and families with:

  • Housing issues and homelessness prevention
  • Benefits and welfare applications
  • Debt support and referrals
  • Understanding council decisions and letters
  • Advocacy with local authorities and housing providers

Health, Wellbeing & Social Support


We help with:


  • Registering with GPs and accessing NHS services
  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing support
  • Family counselling and social support
  • Domestic abuse support and referrals

Employment, Education & Skills


We provide support with:

  • Skills development and training
  • Education access for children and adults
  • ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes
