Building Trust, Safety and Accountability
Union Romani Voice works to strengthen relationships between Roma communities and local law enforcement bodies, including collaboration with Suffolk Police and Ipswich community policing teams.
We recognise that trust and communication are essential for safe and cohesive communities. Our role is to support constructive engagement, promote rights awareness, and ensure community members feel confident when interacting with police services.

Our Work Includes:
• Supporting individuals who are victims of crime
• Providing guidance on how to report incidents safely
• Supporting hate crime reporting and awareness
• Facilitating communication between families and local policing teams
• Signposting to victim support services
• Promoting understanding of rights and responsibilities

Hate Crime & Community Protection
Roma communities may experience racially motivated incidents or discrimination. We work alongside community members and relevant authorities to encourage safe reporting and improve institutional understanding of community concerns.
We promote awareness of legal protections under UK criminal law and equality legislation.
Partnership Approach
Through engagement and collaboration with Suffolk Police and local Ipswich policing representatives, we aim to:
• Improve communication
• Reduce fear and mistrust
• Increase reporting of crime
• Promote safeguarding and early intervention
• Strengthen community cohesion
